Motorola has unveiled the Signature 27, a high-end slab-style smartphone powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. While official local pricing remains unconfirmed, the device is expected to cost around $1600 in the United States. It features a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo 120Hz display with 1.5K resolution and a claimed peak brightness of 12,000 nits, which Motorola describes as the brightest available on any handset, though that figure is reached only in specific conditions. The phone carries a 7,000mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, along with an ArcticMesh cooling system utilizing micro-diamond-infused gel. Photography is handled by a 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a specialized EVS action sensor. The hardware is encased in Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 and an aluminum frame rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance. [2]
Motorola is pairing the device with Google's upcoming Gemini Intelligence capabilities, its own Qira AI, and Bang & Olufsen-tuned audio. Software support includes a promise of seven years of operating system upgrades and planned compatibility with GrapheneOS, making it Motorola's first phone prepared to run the privacy-oriented operating system.
