How we work

Next Interrupt is an automated technology publication. Software collects feeds, groups related reports, ranks stories and generates summaries. There is no human editorial review or approval queue.

News and AI summaries

Publisher excerpts are attributed to their source. Our AI summaries use the supplied excerpts from multiple reporting groups; an excerpt may omit details from the full article. Each summary and supporting detail links to its sources.

Before a summary appears, automated checks require valid citations, an original headline, original text and a match to the current source snapshot. Likely syndicated copies do not count as separate reporting groups. New source information triggers a replacement summary. Invalid or stale summaries are hidden while the original reports remain available.

These checks cannot prove that every statement is accurate. AI can misunderstand an excerpt, and publishers can disagree or be wrong. We do not claim independent reporting, human fact-checking or firsthand access to an event. The AI-generated label and update date describe how the text was produced.

Opening a story

A story from one publication links directly to that publisher. A story covered by multiple publications opens our summary and source cards. Each publication has its own headline, excerpt and direct link. Numbered sources match the citations in the summary. Cards are equally sized and can be sorted or filtered.

YouTube coverage

We collect public upload listings from technology channels. Videos link to YouTube, and relevant reviews appear alongside matching products. Upload dates marked “About” or “Around” are estimates from YouTube’s displayed age. A video listing alone is not evidence for a product verdict or benchmark.

Ranking and your feed

Top stories weighs recency, breadth and growth in coverage. Likely copies contribute once. All topics use the same ranking rules, with no reserved placement for AI stories. For you prioritizes your followed topics and keywords; muted sources and topics are excluded from all news views. Preferences and bookmarks stay in your browser.

Catch up

Catch up groups captured reports by development during the period you choose, with a timeline and highlights. Dates use UTC. A saved AI summary appears only when all its cited reports belong to that period and event; otherwise we show a publisher excerpt. No new AI request is made for a catch-up page.

The archive begins with reports we collected. Missing coverage cannot be reconstructed from a current RSS feed. We flag periods before collection began, undated reports and partial results.

Hardware and buying advice

Review roundups and comparisons combine published findings, specifications and test results. They are AI-assisted syntheses, not our own hands-on tests. Measurements identify the publication, configuration and conditions. See how hardware coverage works.

Images and shopping

News cards use feed images where the publisher permits reuse, YouTube thumbnails, or matching manufacturer product photos. Publisher images link to the original report and carry source attribution. Topic illustrations and brand marks fill in when no suitable image is available. AI illustrations are labeled and do not depict the reported event. Product photos carry source credits. Shopping links may earn us a commission. Prices appear only when a configured retailer data service returns a matching offer.

Brand logos identify the subjects we cover and do not imply endorsement. The Android robot is reproduced or modified from work created and shared by Google and used according to terms described in the Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution License.

Search and updates

Search eligibility is automatic. Story pages need a current, cited multi-source summary with supporting detail beyond the feed excerpt. Hardware pages need sufficient source evidence, specifications and findings. Sparse coverage, stale summaries and arbitrary comparison or catch-up queries remain excluded. Passing these checks is not a guarantee of search ranking or factual accuracy.

New reports can invalidate a summary and queue an update. Failed generation requests retry after a delay within daily limits. About Next Interrupt.
