Microsoft has rolled out version 0.102 of its free PowerToys utility suite for Windows, bringing several new navigation and productivity tools. The update is available to download directly via GitHub or as an in-app upgrade, focusing heavily on expanded mouse controls and workflow customization. [1][2]
The release introduces Mouse Button Lock, which allows users to drag and select items without continuously holding down a physical click after holding it down for a few seconds. A companion tool called CursorHide conceals the pointer while typing or during periods of mouse inactivity, bringing it back immediately upon movement. The ZoomIt utility also gained offline voice dictation capabilities to pair transcribed audio notes with captured screenshots. [1][2]
Other additions include a quick-access panel in Command Palette for pinning favorite actions to shortcuts Alt 1 through Alt 9, alongside search integration for settings and support for keyboards with a Copilot key. PowerToys 0.102 also expands Keyboard Manager with single-key remapping options, brings WinUI 3 interface updates to Color Picker and Text Extractor, and lets FancyZones users cycle layouts using the mouse wheel.
