Apple is preparing a multi-day slate of hardware announcements culminating on Wednesday, October 28, headlined by redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. According to reporting from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the flagship laptops will feature Apple's first Mac touchscreen, an OLED panel, a Dynamic Island display cutout, and M5 Pro and M5 Max chips inside a thinner, lighter chassis. The touchscreen transition will be paired with macOS interface adjustments that enlarge on-screen controls when tapped, easing navigation without abandoning trackpad input. While existing mini-LED options may remain available as budget-friendly alternatives, the new OLED models could see starting prices jump by up to $500. [2]
The expected product blitz also includes other hardware refreshes earlier in the week. Gurman indicates Apple is readying an updated iPad mini featuring an OLED screen, alongside a refreshed 24-inch iMac and a base 14-inch MacBook Pro, both upgraded with Apple's M6 processor. [1][2]
