What reviewers found
Quick verdict
Trusted Reviews heard clearer vocals than on the original AirPods Max and rated the noise cancellation highly. Sound quality is the main reason to consider this update.
At a glance
Good for
People who use several Apple devices for music and audiobooks and prefer over-ear headphones.
The catch
The 386g weight and tight clamp divided testers on comfort. The case leaves the headband exposed, and there's no power button.

Strengths and limitations
Cons
- The headphones omit a physical power button, relying instead on standby timeout or insertion into the case to shut down.
- The included case merely wraps the earcups, omitting protection for the headband and providing no pockets to store charging cables.
- Weighing 386g, the metal design makes the headphones noticeably heavier than competitors, and tight clamping pressure can cause discomfort after extended use.
